Reckless driving charge after fatal Virginia motorcycle accident

On Behalf of | Jun 29, 2020 | Traffic Violations

There are a variety of different types of motor vehicles that are legally allowed to be used on Virginia roadways. However, some vehicles — such as motorcycles — may be more difficult for other drivers to see due to their smaller size, especially at night. Unfortunately, a woman now faces a reckless driving charge after she was reportedly involved in an accident that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

The accident happened at approximately 11 p.m. on a night in late June. According to reports, a driver was headed north when she attempted to make a left turn. Unfortunately, police say that the woman turned into the path of a motorcyclist who was traveling in the southbound lanes of the same road.

An investigation is said to have revealed that the impact ejected the motorcyclist. He was transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, he died as a result of the injuries suffered in the crash. Reports about the tragic incident indicates that it remains under investigation. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident and has yet to talk with them to contact them.

The woman police say was involved in the accident now faces a charge of reckless driving as a result of the Virginia motorcycle accident. Unfortunately, many people facing criminal charges are unsure of their legal options and the potential outcomes of each. As such, they often choose to consult with an experienced attorney who can help guide them through the process. Such a professional can ensure that they are fully prepared to make informed decisions — decisions that could have a significant impact on the rest of their lives.
